Good morning 👋 Welcome back to another issue of The Nosy Neighbour.
Every week, we peek into the life of someone living in London—their routines, favourite spots, career, relationships and all the bits in between.
This week's neighbour is Vic Park, a 27-year-old Founder's Associate living in Battersea. We chatted about why you should never get too comfortable at work, the underrated career skill that opens more doors than a CV ever could, and why protecting your mornings might be the best productivity hack there is.
Enjoy!
👋 THIS WEEK'S NEIGHBOUR
Victoria ‘Vic' Park

Vic is the kind of person who believes you should be a little scared by your job.
After leaving a comfortable role where she felt she'd stopped learning, she joined an early-stage startup as a Founder's Associate, embracing the uncertainty that comes with building something from the ground up. She'd also argue that being a "people person" is one of the most valuable career skills you can develop—and that the relationships you build will often take you further than your CV ever will.
Outside of work, Victoria is an unapologetic morning person. She protects the hours before the working day begins, swears by prioritising sleep, and firmly believes that looking after yourself — whether that's a fresh manicure or a great coffee — is an investment rather than an indulgence.

💼 WORK
What's something about your job that people always get wrong?
People often assume being a Founder's Associate is a glorified executive assistant role, but it's much more varied than that.
You're often the person picking up whatever needs doing next — whether that's strategy, operations, research, problem-solving or helping turn an idea into something actionable.
The variety is actually my favourite part of the role. No two days are ever the same.
What's one skill that's become far more valuable than you expected?
Being a people person.
I didn't realise early enough just how valuable building genuine relationships is. It opens doors, creates opportunities and can even create money in places you never expected.
People open doors that CVs don't.
If you can communicate your vision, build trust and get people excited about an idea before it even exists, you're already halfway there.
What's the best career investment you've ever made?
Choosing growth over comfort.
I left a role where I was comfortable, knew the most in the room and had amazing benefits because I'd stopped learning.
I actually think you should be a little scared by your work sometimes. Those are the moments that make you stronger, more resilient and more capable of taking on whatever life throws at you.
What's one thing you're excited to work on next?
I'm most excited about what we're building at Brick.
I love being part of something at an early stage where there's still so much to figure out, and where the work you do can genuinely shape the direction of the business.
I'm excited to keep learning, take on new challenges and see how far we can take it.

💰 MONEY
What's the best piece of money advice you've ever received?
If you fear talking about money, you'll only give yourself more reason to fear it.
The more openly you talk about money, the more comfortable and confident you become with it.
What's one thing you'll happily spend more money on?
Good coffee. Every single day of the week.
What's one financial habit that's made the biggest difference to your life?
Getting a good financial advisor.
If finance isn't naturally your strong suit, having someone you trust explain things in simple terms can make it feel so much less intimidating.
The best advisors teach you rather than just do everything for you.
Ask questions, understand why they're making certain decisions and, over time, you'll feel confident enough to take more control yourself.
What's something you wish you'd understood about money sooner?
I wish I'd understood that earning money and building wealth are two completely different things.
A good salary can give you a comfortable life, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're building long-term financial security.
Learning how to save, invest and make your money work for you is just as important as earning it in the first place.
I'd recommend The Psychology of Money as a great place to start.
What's the most expensive thing you've bought in the last year, and was it worth it?
A handbag. The cost per wear is now under £3...
Now, that's girl math!

☀ ROUTINES
What's one habit that's genuinely improved your life?
Prioritising sleep. You feel the benefits in every area of your life.
What's your favourite part of the day, and why?
6-9am. That's my time.
I love an early start because mornings are the one part of the day that feel completely mine, before work kicks in, messages start coming through and life gets busy.
There's something about having those quiet hours to myself that makes me feel grounded, organised and ready for whatever's ahead.
What's one routine you've tried that didn't stick?
Cooking from scratch every evening.
I love the idea of finishing every day with a proper home-cooked meal, but between work, social plans and life, it's usually the first thing that gets pushed aside.
I've learnt that having good intentions is one thing, but finding a routine that actually fits around real life is another.
What's your ideal Sunday look like?
A slow morning. A good coffee. A long walk. Time with the people I love.
Then a little life admin—cleaning, washing and getting everything ready—so Monday starts feeling fresh rather than frantic.
What's one thing you do every week that's completely non-negotiable?
Tinting my eyebrows and getting a bi-weekly manicure.
It might sound like a small thing, but I genuinely believe when you look good, you feel good — and when you feel good, you show up differently.
For me, it's less about beauty and more about feeling confident, energised and ready for the week ahead.
